Empowering change, one signature at a time. Infiniti, a passionate community organizer and MS warrior, is making her voice heard and advocating for a better future.

When you’re living with MS, self-care isn’t a luxury—it’s a lifeline. Balancing work, relationships, and unpredictable symptoms can make prioritizing yourself feel impossible. But as Infiniti, a 27-year-old living with MS, discovered, self-care is not just survival—it’s a way to take back control over your life and well-being.

Infiniti’s Wake-Up Call

Infiniti had always been the person who said “yes” to everyone else—her job, her family, her friends. But after months of worsening symptoms, constant fatigue, and feeling unsupported, she realized something had to change.

“I just feel very overwhelmed, and I know that’s not good for MS,” she admitted.

This realization marked the beginning of her self-care journey, where she learned that saying “yes” to herself was the most powerful way to manage her health.

Why Self-Care Matters When You Have MS

MS symptoms like fatigue, muscle spasms, and cognitive fog can be unpredictable, and stress often makes them worse. Without self-care, it’s easy to burn out, leading to flares that disrupt daily life.

Infiniti recognized that ignoring her needs only exacerbated her condition. She began prioritizing practices that helped her feel more grounded, calm, and in control. “When I meditate, the mental chatter gets softer,” she shared. “It helps me feel more in control.”

How Infiniti is Reclaiming Her Health Through Self-Care

Learning to Say No
For Infiniti, boundaries were a major hurdle, but they became a cornerstone of her self-care practice.
“A big part of my personal struggle with MS has been boundaries,” she explained. “You have to be able to say no, even if your friends are doing it.”

By learning to say no to commitments that drained her energy, she started protecting her peace and focusing on what truly mattered.

💡Tip: Practice saying no to smaller, low-stakes requests first to build confidence. For example, “Thanks for inviting me, but I need to rest tonight.”

Finding Peace in Mindfulness
Infiniti turned to meditation as a way to quiet her mind and reset her focus. “I’m better with boundaries and can make space for prioritizing my peace.” Even just a few minutes a day gave her the clarity and calm she needed to manage the challenges of living with MS.

💡Tip: Start small with mindfulness by setting a timer for 2-3 minutes. Focus on deep breaths or listen to a guided meditation app to get started.

Embracing Gentle Movement
Despite challenges like muscle spasms, Infiniti found that gentle physical activity helped both her body and mind. Her commute, which includes walking to and from the bus stop, became an opportunity for movement.

💡Tip: Look for ways to incorporate movement into your daily routine, like stretching while watching TV or taking short walks around your home. Start where you are, and remember—every step counts.

Seeking Support
Though she often felt isolated, Infiniti knew the importance of finding a community that understood her journey.
“I don’t really know anybody with MS for real or autoimmune diseases for real,” she admitted. Building a supportive network remains one of her goals as she continues navigating life with MS.

💡Tip: Join online forums or local support groups for people with MS. Connecting with others who share similar experiences can make a big difference in feeling seen and supported.

Giving Yourself Grace
Infiniti embraced the idea that self-care isn’t about perfection—it’s about showing up for yourself in whatever way you can.
“Not every day is perfect,” she explained. “Sometimes, self-care just means getting enough sleep and letting myself rest.”

💡Tip: Keep a journal to track your self-care efforts and celebrate small wins. Even on days when rest is your only accomplishment, remind yourself that you’re doing what your body needs.

Make Self-Care a Priority in Your Life

If you’re living with MS, self-care isn’t selfish—it’s essential. Whether it’s setting boundaries, taking five minutes for mindfulness, or simply allowing yourself to rest, every small act of self-care adds up to a stronger, healthier you.

When you take care of yourself, you can take on anything. 💜
